This loss adds to Naivas’ misfortunes, marking their third defeat in four games while APS Bomet remain unbeaten and climbs to the top of the table with twelve points
APS Bomet’s unbeaten run continues as they secured victory over Naivas FC in their National Super League clash played on Saturday November 2nd, 2024, at the Dandora Stadium, thanks to their two first half-goals.
Naivas controlled the match from onset and nearly got an early goal but Bob Cedric was quick to save his team from conceding. Shortly after, APS Bomet’s Abuti Cosmas maneuvered through the Naivas defense leaving him with the keeper, only to send his shot over the crossbar.
Despite Naivas’ continued dominance in the game, they failed to convert most of their chances and it was APS Bomet that were first to break the deadlock in the 40th after Erick Mwirithi headed in Phillip Wasai’s corner kick.
Minutes later, the referee awarded Bomet a controversial penalty and James Kaleha converted it to give them a 2 – 0 lead. Naivas responded instantly from the resulting kickoff, pushing forward and eventually earning a penalty of their own. Vincent Likare converted, bringing the score to 2 – 1 as the teams headed for the break.
In the second half, Naivas intensified their search for an equalizer but Bomet’s defense held firm till the final whistle. Naivas finished the match aggrieved, calling out on the referee for failing to point to the spot twice, for what they felt was a penalty.
This loss adds to Naivas’ misfortunes, marking their third defeat in four games while APS Bomet remain unbeaten and climbs to the top of the table with twelve points, one ahead of 3K FC who are yet to play.
