When it rains, it pours. This phrase is seemingly applicable to record Kenyan champions Gor Mahia who have just been slapped with another transfer ban by the game’s global governing body, FIFA.

FIFA communicated to the club on Wednesday 6 October 2021, saying, “We wish to inform the parties that a ban from registering new players internationally has been implemented by Fifa as of today (Wednesday).”

The latest ban follows the lapse of a 45-day notice to pay dues totaling US$ 30,000 (Ksh 3,319,000) to its former player, Owusu Jackson from Ghana.

Owusu joined Gor Mahia in January 2020, lured to the club by his former coach Steve Pollack who coached him at Ghanaian aristocrats Asante Kotoko in 2018.
