Police Bullets, who finished as runners-up in last year’s qualifiers in Ethiopia, are eyeing their first continental title on home soil.
Kenya Police Bullets captain and goalkeeper Annedy Kundu has urged fans to turn out in large numbers and support the team during the ongoing CAF Women’s Champions League CECAFA Qualifiers.
Speaking at their first match pre-match press conference, Kundu appealed for home support similar to what Harambee Stars enjoyed during the recently concluded CHAN 2024.
“We call out to our fans to come and give us support like they did with Harambee Stars, and we promise not to disappoint,” she said.
Head coach Beldine Odemba confirmed that three players will miss the opening clash due to injury but expressed confidence in the rest of the squad.
“Three of our players are out injured and won’t feature tomorrow, but the remaining players are ready to give their best,” Odemba stated.
Police Bullets, who finished as runners-up in last year’s qualifiers in Ethiopia, are eyeing their first continental title on home soil. Vihiga Queens remain the only Kenyan club to have lifted the CAF Women’s Champions League Qualifiers trophy, a feat they achieved at home in 2021.
Bullets will face Uganda’s Kampala Queens at 4:00 PM on Wednesday at Nyayo, shortly after Commercial Bank of Ethiopia take on Rwanda’s Rayon Sports Women at 1:00 PM at the same venue.
