Amos Wanjala Leads New Inclusions in Harambee Stars Squad

Rising Stars Captain Amos Wanjala received his first ever senior national team call up as Engin Firat announced his squad for the final two 2025 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against Zimbabwe and Namibia. The matches are scheduled to take place in South Africa on November 15th and 19th respectively.

Wanjala who currently plays in Spain for Atletic Club Tollerano first rose into the limelight last year, captaining St Antony Boys High School during the school games till nationals. He later on moved to Natic Sports in Spain before recently moving to his current club. Notably, he has captained the Rising Stars U20 and U18 up to the finals of CECAFA championships, losing to Tanzania and Uganda respectively.

Other notable new inclusions include Kakamega Homeboyz goalkeeper Farouk Shikhalo who hasn’t been called for sometime. Leshan Mootian of Ulinzi Stars, Charles Momanyi of Tusker and Marvin Nabwire of Kenya Police also made the cut for the first time.

Kenya who are third in Group J with 4 points have to win both their matches, with Zimbabwe only needing a draw against them to qualify.
