It is officiallly time against the clock as Kenya now shifts focus to developing infrastructure ahead of the forthcoming Africa cup of Nations set for 2027.
The Confederation of African Football awarded Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania the rights to host the Africa Cup of Nations in 2027.
The announcement was made on Wednesday by CAF President Patrice Motsepe in Cairo when the body's Executive Committee met.
The development comes at a time when Kenyans are still celebrating Harambee Starlets triumph in the first round of the 2024 Women's Africa Cup of Nations where they eliminated Cameroon.
The three countries expressed interest to host the tournament through the East Africa Pamoja Bid that was heavily backed by the Heads of States.

The state has already awarded the renovation works and tender to the Kenya Defence Forces who are also expected to work on the Jamhuri Sports Complex.
The bid was considered instead of that of Egypt, Senegal, Botswana and Algeria who withdrew out two days to the official announcement.
Motsepe acknowledged that the support and commitment from the three presidents to have the tournament held in East Africa made the difference.
The three countries have their work cut out as all the earmarked facilities to host the tournament have to undergo massive renovations so as to meet the set threshold.
CAF also announced Morocco as the 2025 edition's host country after Nigeria and Algeria withdrew their bids.
Nigeria and Benin has presented a joint bid.
Ivory Coast are scheduled to host the 2023 edition that was pushed to January next year.
