AK announces selection criteria ahead of Olympic trials

In order to secure a slot on the Kenyan athletics team to the Tokyo Olympics, athletes will be required to have attained the qualifying standards in their respective disciplines as stipulated by World Athletics, undergone mandatory anti-doping education and be among the top two in their disciplines in order to secure automatic qualifcation.

Athletics Kenya has announced its selection criteria ahead of the Olympic trials between 17th and 19th June at Kasarani. 

In order to secure a slot on the Kenyan athletics team to the Tokyo Olympics, athletes will be required to have attained the qualifying standards in their respective disciplines as stipulated by World Athletics, undergone mandatory anti-doping education and be among the top two in their disciplines in order to secure automatic qualifcation.

 Consequently, Athletics Kenya in collaboration with the Athletics Integrity Unit and Anti-Doping Agency of Kenya have began a series of  mandatory education seminars on 10th, 11th and 12th June 2021 in Nairobi, Eldoret and Kericho respectively for all the invited athletes.
