Burkina Faso have become the first African nation to qualify for the FIFA U-17 World Cup after a 2-1 win over Egypt at the TotalEnergies CAF U-17 Africa Cup of Nations. With two wins from two, including a 2-1 victory over Cameroon, Burkina Faso sealed their place in the quarter-finals and booked a spot at the World Cup with a game to spare.

Egypt fought back after Burkina Faso’s Issouf Dabo opened the scoring in the 41st minute, and Asharaf Tabsoba doubled the lead in the 69th. Despite a late goal from Belal Ateya in the 78th minute, Burkina Faso held firm to clinch the win. They now face South Africa in their final group match, having already secured their World Cup berth.

In Group A, Morocco and Zambia played to a 0-0 draw, leaving both teams with 4 points. Morocco, who had won 5-0 against Uganda in their opener, struggled against Zambia, especially after defender Hamza Mouhadi was sent off in the 75th minute. Despite being a man down, Morocco had chances late in the game but failed to convert. Both sides now look to secure qualification in their final matches. Morocco will play against Tanzania and Zambia against Uganda.
