With two wins from two, including a 2-1 victory over Cameroon, Burkina Faso sealed their place in the quarter-finals and booked a spot at the World Cup with a game to spare.
Egypt fought back after Burkina Faso’s Issouf Dabo opened the scoring in the 41st minute, and Asharaf Tabsoba doubled the lead in the 69th. Despite a late goal from Belal Ateya in the 78th minute, Burkina Faso held firm to clinch the win. They now face South Africa in their final group match, having already secured their World Cup berth.
