Shabana FC extended their impressive form, getting their third win of the season after a 2 – 1 victory over AFC Leopards in a tightly contested match at Gusii Stadium on Wednesday.

The hosts made a single change to their line up bringing on Ezekiel Omuri, while Leopards made few adjustments, bringing on Julius Masaba, Kennedy Odhiambo, Musa Oundo, with Humphrey Katasi starting in goal.

The game kicked off with Shabana showing their intent early on. Their high-energy play had Leopards on toes but they failed to  convert their early dominance into goals.

Shabana finally took the lead in the 34th minute after Mathew Tegis set up Brian Michira, whose superb header found the back of the net to send Gusii Stadium into celebrations.

Shortly after, Michira doubled his tally, this time benefiting from a fantastic run by Omwando, who cut through the defense, sitting Vincent Mahiga down and providing a pinpoint assist.

Just before the break, Ingwe managed to pull one back through a Boniface Munyendo strike, with the teams heading for the break on a 2 – 1 score line.

Leopards' coach, Thomas Trucha made changes at the break, bringing on Victor Otieno, Kelly Madada and Arthur Gitego, to replace Ronnie Shichenje, Boniface Munyendo, and Julius Masaba. The changes brought new energy into the Leopards’ play as they started to dominate the match and pressure for an equalizer.

Despite the increased pressure, Shabana's defense held firm. The hosts successful kept Leopards attacks at bay, managing to see the game through and securing all three points.

With the win, Shabana increased their season tally to 12 points in the standings, one more than AFC Leopards who have not won a match in their previous five games, drawing two and losing three.
