Tusker FC midfielder Fabian Aidikiny says he has made tremendous steps of growth since he joining the team before the start of the season.
Adikiny was signed from Murang’a Seal, having featured for them in their run up to promotion from the National Super League.
“I have grown a lot individually. I have developed my skill to a high level since I joined and the biggest lesson I have learnt is the essence of teamwork, which is the pillar of growth,” Adikiny says.
He adds; “So far so good. It has been a great first season. I am still a work in progress but I am on a good track. As a footballer, you always have to adapt to any new situation and it hasn’t been easy. With a good mentality though, I have been able to do well.”
The midfielder endured a tough spell just two months into his new season after picking up an injury when he had just risen in momentum and the pecking order in the team. However, he says he pushed himself and the players also helped him to rise and he believes he will finish the season strong.
His biggest target at the moment is to finish his debut top flight season with a trophy. The team is currently battling for the FKF Premier League title and the MozzartBet FKF Cup.
“It would be something really great to finish with a trophy. This is something that I have longed for and getting my first career trophy in the first season with Tusker would be a dream come true,” notes Adikiny.
The team plays Kakamega Homeboyz in the quarter finals of the FKF MozzartBet Cup on Saturday in Kisumu, and Adikiny has urged his teammates to put in a shift and ensure a win to progress to the quarter finals.
“It will not be an easy game, but we are looking forward to it. Our form has been good and we also have good morale in training. These past three weeks we have trained really aell and I believe we have the motivation to win,” Adikiny further says.
