Action galore as GOtv fixtures set to lighten mid-week

Action on the Domestic GOtv Shield will heighten on Tuesday through to Wednesday with a rich menu of up to ten matches on the cards.

Nairobi will be the nerve centre of action where Talanta and Moscas will lock horns on Tuesday in an early kick off match at the Ruaraka ground before paving way for Kenyan Commercial Bank to battle Finlays.

Across town at the Nairobi City Stadium, Nakumatt will host Mumbi Nationale from 1pm before Posta Rangers collide with Nanyuki Youth

On Wednesday, the highlight matches will pit Kariobangi Sharks against Police from 1pm at City before record ten time holders Gor Mahia begin their quest for an 11thb crown against Nairobi County side Langat Premio.

However it is Posta Rangers versus Nanyuki Youth that will attract much interest on Tuesday.

Posta defied the odds last term to sail the finals, where they fell 2-1 to Sofapaka in an evenly fought thrilling contest.

Add that to the fact that coach George Maina who guided them to the runners up position is back at the helm of the team following the redeployment of coach John Kamau, then you get what it means.

Ahead of the duel, Maina has asked his boys to treat the opponents with caution and respect, but get the job done.

“We have never played against them but being the team they are, they can cause you upsets so we must be wary,” he told michezoafrika.com in a pre-match interview

Meanwhile, at the weekend several matches were played with Premier league sides making minced meal of their opponents from the lower tier leagues as they confirmed their places in round two of the competition.
