Group B consists of hosts Uganda, Ethiopia , Burundi and Tanzania. The top two teams in the competition will qualify for the 2025 AFCON.
The Rising Stars will be led by head coach Salim Babu, who has enjoyed success with the national youth teams.
With this qualification, Tanzania becomes the third East African country to secure a spot in the 2025 edition of AFCON, joining Uganda and Sudan.

Notable exclusions include former captain Musa Mohammed who retuned after a long spell from the national team but sustained an injury in the early minutes of last match.
Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania have already qualified for the competition by the virtue of being hosts, and CECAFA region will get a fourth spot for the nation with best qualifying performance
Notably, both Kenya and Tanzania have qualified for the AFCON U20 and will represent the CECAFA region come next year.
