Gor hit big as FKF slaps fine

Gor Mahia have been hit big after being ordered to play its remaining two league matches behind closed doors. The club has also been slapped with a fine of Sh500, 000 by Football Kenya Federation.

On the other hand Sofapaka has been slapped with Sh 300,000 fine.

At a press briefing on Tuesday afternoon, FKF chairman Sam Nyamweya said that they will not tolerate hooliganism.

Besides, the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos has been banned from hosting high magnitude matches involving Gor Mahia and/ or AFC Leopards.

The fines follows the ugly scenes witnessed on Sunday at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos where irate Gor fans enraged in hooliganism during and after the 3-2 defeat to Sofapaka.

The order to play behind closed doors will greatly affect K’Ogalo who have relied on gate collections to settle the players bonuses as well meet its day to day budget operations.
