Telkom Orange made it five out five wins in the women national hockey league on Saturday following their thrilling 22-0 thumping of Mount Kenya University in a match staged at the City Park.

In Just two matches, Telkom Orange has harvested 37 goals and six points having defeated Kenyatta University 15-0 last week at the same venue.

Terry Juma hit the back of the board six times for the 15 times national champions who opened a nine point gap at the helm of the table.

Head coach Jos Openda says his team has hit form at the right time especially as they prepare to defend their Africa crown they won last year, “We started the league low, but now the players are playing much better putting passes together and with intent. By December we will be ready to defend our title.” he said.

Team captain Besty Omalla who scored 2 goals on the day said the game was one sided and added that they should have scored over 30 goals, “We played normally in a one sided affair. The side (MKU) is young with a lot to learn but I appreciate that at this point we are starting to get the right energy and strategy.” She said.
