All Africa Games qualifiers-Kenya's U-23 fall to Eritrea

Hopes of Kenya's Under 23 soccer team representing the country in the 2011 All Africa Games slated for September 3-18 in Maputo,Mozambique look slim  after the team lost 4-1 to hosts Eritrea in Asmara in the Preliminary round first leg match.

The Kenyan team mainly drawn from the National Youth Talent Academy is under the tutelage of veteran Bob Oyugi and has an uphill task if they are to reverse the 4-1 loss to Eritrea in the return leg to be played in Nairobi in a fortnight.

Anything less than a clear 3-0 win against the Eritrean team who are making a rare international appearance means Kenya will sit out in the cold.

Kenya is classified in Zone V and the winner after the return leg will meet either Uganda or Tanzania. Uganda managed a 2-1 win over Tanzania in Kampala.
