The Ulinzi men’s and women’s teams will be rejoining the Kenya Handball Federation League for the 2013/2014 season.

The teams had opted to participate in the Kenya Defence Forces League only during the 2012/2013 season but will now be making a comeback. According to Sammy Mwangangi the KDF League Assistant Secretary the move was to see growth in both the Ulinzi teams and also the other teams that belong in the KDF,

“We want to create some level of competition for the Ulinzi teams and we think in the KHF League we shall find it. At the same time we want to create a platform for the other players who are not in the Ulinzi main team to grow before joining the Ulinzi main team. That means that as Ulinzi we shall have an avenue to tap talent.”

The teams will still be participating in the KDF League and will make an appearance in the KHF Madaraka Day pre-season tournament scheduled for the 29th and 30th of June.
