KDF Chairman’s Cup Day One wrap up

The Kenya Defence Forces Chairman’s Cup kicked off on Friday at the Nyayo Handball Court with four matches played on the opening day.

Three of the matches that were played were men’s matches while one was a ladies match. Defending Champions Ulinzi kicked of their title defence with a 34-18 drubbing of Kahawa Barracks. Moi Air Base survived a lucky onslaught by visiting Kenya Navy the match ending at a close 24-23 in favor of MAB.

Artillery Brigade had an easy time seeing off Armored 22-14 while in the last match of the day Ulinzi ladies team thrashed Moi Air Base ladies team 34-4 in a one sided match.

The tournament will resume on Saturday at the same venue with a number of civilian teams including 2012/2013 KHF League Champions Black Mamba, Strathmore University joining the armed forces teams.
