Were axed as waruru is recalled

Sensational Tusker fc striker Paul Were’s dream of adorning Kenya’s Jersey was cut short this afternoon after he was unexpectedly axed from the national team due to a technical problem to his travel documents.

Were who had been drafted in the first 18 squad released this morning by Coach Twahir Muhiddin had to be replaced by Waruru who had to be recalled following the unfortunate turn of events for the youngster. Paul is currently enjoying good form with awesome scoring records for his team making him among the most prolific strikers in the country at the moment.

Were’s debacle sent coach Muhiddin to make quick last minutes adjustments to his squad as he took the players through last minute attacking drills at their training camp in Kasarani.

Muhiddin is however optimistic that the stars who have a poor record against the Ugandans will overturn the tables in Kampala and salvage at least a point if not convincing victory.

Morale in camp is high, players are in good spirit and all is set for the team to depart early tomorrow morning for a landing in Entebbe ready for the crucial duel.
