Kenyan Golden girls reclaim top spot

The Kenyan golden girls have recaptured their rightful place at the helm of African volleyball by  overcoming all odds to set the stage for an all Kenyan final to be played on Sunday in Mauritius.
Kenya pipeline will face Lung’aho’s Kenya prisons in a local derby on away soil. Last year’s finalists Kenya commercial Bank on the other hand will have to overcome Cameroonian Bafia evolution for a 1,2,3 Kenyan scoop in the club championship.

Kenya prisons trounced home girls Black rangers of Mauritius in three straight sets at the quarter finals before crashing their home rivals KCB 3-0 in the semis. Kenya pipeline had an easy task at the quarters when they eliminated APR of Rwanda and later Bafia evolution of Cameroon at the semis to reach the finals.

David Lun’gaho who coaches Kenya prisons has dominated the African volleyball scene for a long time and a win will consolidate his strength as one of the finest volleyball coaches in the continent. Last year his team was disqualified from participating in last year's championship held in Nairobi and the prison warders are hungry for a ticket to Qatar at the end of the year for the FIVB world club championships.
