Oliech's Auxerre qualify for Champions League

Kenyans will have another chance-after Mariga's debut- to cheer on their own after Harambee stars striker Dennis Oliech's club Auxerre secured a play-offs spot in the lucrative Champions League.

Auxerre won 2-1 against Sochaux,a win secured by Cedric Hengbart, who scored a brace -5th and 87th minute.Sochaux had equalised in the through a 47th minute strike by Ideye.

The win propelled Auxerre into  3rd position with 71 points,1 point adrift of second placed Olympic Lyon and 7 point behind champions Ligue 1 champions Marseille.

This season has been one of the most successful for Auxerre with boss Jean Fernandez  being named Ligue 1 manager of the year.

Kenya's Oliech contribution was well felt having scored 4 goals and providing 3 assists and sets another milestone for Kenyan football.

Oliech has been selected into the squad that will represent Kenya in the inaugural five nation Green Soccer Ball at Michigan *,USA which coached byJacob "Ghost" Mulee.The tournament kicks off in 20th May and ends on 23rd May 2010.

Other teams in the tournament include Ghana,Nigeria,Malaysia and Puerto Rico
