World Samma Academy overview

Samma is an Acronym that stands for the Society of African Mixed Martial Arts. Its establishment dates back to 2011and provides an own-developed-syllabus for both techniques and ranking requirements for its members. It is a Kenyan Martial Arts and combines Self Defense, Combat and Physical Fitness.

In August 2013 Samma exponents were well catered for the first time in history by the establishment of the World Samma Federation (WSF). The WSF Syllabus has different levels and the World Samma Academy in Kenya offers the second level (Orange Belt) and the third Black belt Syllabi.

WSF Red Belt Syllabus contains the concepts and principles of Grappling. It includes Topics Such as;
Joint Lock Manipulations
Chokes
Throws
Sweeps
Ground positions, transitions and submissions
Cheni 2 Pattern
WSF Orange Belt Syllabus contains comprehensive striking methods thus include topics such as;
Advance punching
Advanced Kicking
Elbows and knees strike
Advanced deflections (checks, blocks and parries)
Rolling
Cheni 1Pattern
WSF Yellow Belt Syllabus contains the basic fundamentals of Samma;
Stances
Stepping/moving
Evasion methods
Blocks/Deflections
Punches
Primary kicks
Open hand strikes
Safety falls

The WSF Purple Belt Syllabus is the fourth Level of Samma and concentrates on the basic science of self defense

The Fitness Center
You cannot have a martial arts academy without a fitness center. World Samma Academy is also equipped with a fitness center used by the Academy and is also open to the public. Visit their website for more details
