AFC Leopards will miss the services of left back Abbas Kiwaalabye in their FKF Cup Semi Final match tomorrow against defending champions Gor Mahia at the Moi Sports Centre Kasarani.

Abbas has been struggling with a thigh injury for the whole of the week and though he has been training he will not be fit enough for the match.

“He has started training slowly but then he has not regained 100% fitness either to be on the bench or to start the match. Unfortunately we will not have him in that match but I trust Idrissa will be fully able to fill that gap,” Coach Jan Koops told michezoafrika.com

Erick Masika had also been struggling with sickness but has recovered well enough in time for the crunch tie against his former side.

Koops maintains confidence that they will make a good show against Gor and says they will be careful not to commit the same mistakes they made when the two teams last met in a league match in August.

“We have looked at the match and realized where our mistakes were and we have sealed them. Of course there are some mistakes that are common in football but we will give our best to ensure we win and play continental football next year,” adds the coach.

Leopards were eliminated in the Semis of the tournament last year by Gor Mahia losing 1-0 in a match that was marred with crowd trouble.
