FKF warns rowdy fans ahead of FKF Cup derby

 Plans for the weekend FKF Cup semi final match between AFC Leopards and Gor Mahia are complete .This was announced on Thursday after a security meeting held at the match venue and chaired by FKF Chairman Sam Nyamweya.

The meeting was also attended by officials from Gor Mahia, AFC Leopards, Tusker and Sofapaka as well as the Sports Stadia Management Board represented by Chief Executive Officer Gabriel Komora.

The big derby between AFC Leopards and Gor Mahia will be played on Saturday starting 3:00Pm while the Sofapaka vs Tusker match has been moved from City stadium to Kasarani on Sunday. Both matches will be aired Live by SuperSport.

"Security plans for both matches are complete and I would like to say categorically that there will be a very high level of security during the derby, one that has never been seen before and people intending to cause trouble around that premises on that day will be in for serious trouble, because we want fans to enjoy the match and go back home safely." Nyamweya said.

The chairman added that, "We have decided to ban fans who cause trouble during or after matches from the stadia for life. We have also put very serious security conditions for clubs participating in the league next season to ensure high levels of security."

Tickets will start selling on Friday morning and it was agreed during the meeting that the number of tickets for the match be increased from 25, 000 to 35, 000.

Fans have been advised to purchase tickets only at designated areas to avoid being sold fake tickets. The tickets will be sold by (BM) Bob Morgan at the Kenya Cinema, Kencom and inside Kasarani stadium  on Friday and on Saturday there will be a ticket van outside the stadium.
