Crowd trouble dents Leopards, Sofapaka clash

The semifinal GOTV match pitting Sofapaka and AFC Leopards was marred by crowd trouble after furious Ingwe fans hauled water bottle and crude weapons onto the pitch of play after the opposition scored the second goal with five minutes left.

Police responded by lobbing tears gas canisters causing confusion with a good section of the fans especially women  being injured in the melee as everyone scampered for safety. The Match referee also had to receive treatment as he sustained injuries from the chaos.

The bitter pain for a loss too evident proved too much for the Leopards faithful who have been starved of success this season.

Sofapaka had assumed an early first half lead through the stocky forward Enock Agwanda and when it appeared Leopards could salvage something from the game inform Anthony Ndolo struck to inflict more pain on item limping Leopard.

 Earlier on Rangers dispatched West Kenya Sugar 10-9 on post-match penalties the same venue and will now meet Sofapaka in the finale.
