Chelsea sack Antonio Conte

Antonio Conte has been sacked to pave way for the impending Maurizio Sarri's arrival to replace him as the head coach at Chelsea.

The Italian, Conte, is set to reap up to £10million in compensation with Chelsea Club owner ready to risk. Abramovich had held back sacking the Italian, who may stay out for a year without taking a new job, hoping that a job for him would have come hence removing the compensation bill off his shoulders but he had to act even as the Italian was already back for preseason.

Maurizio Sarri will now take over as Conte's successor as generally expected since his move has been on the cards from late last season. The Italian had been held up at Napoli even after the Italian club had secured the services of Carlo Ancelotti. But Sarri has now agreed to a two-year contract with the option of adding a third if he can sign off his contract with Napoli.
