The 21-year-old Finn returned 7th fastest on the first pass of the 17km SS14 Oserian stage but racked up a win on the subsequent 13-km Narasha stage to maintain his lead in his GR Yaris Rally1.
On a day which troubled more of the FIA World Rally Championship’s leading drivers, Rovanperä overcame sickness worries to increase his advantage and headed a Toyota GR Yaris quartet in front of Elfyn Evans.

Maxine finished fifth in class in Thursday’s Kasarani Super Special Stage in Nairobi but the 26-year-old former motocross rider worked her way up the leader board
“I finished the stage but the car stopped just 5kms from the end of the section as we were headed for first service,” Loeb said.

Championship leader Rovanperä languished in 11th overall on Thursday evening after puncturing a tyre on the curtain-raising super special stage, but was immediately into the podium fight on Friday's sandy speed tests on the shores of the Great Rift Valley’s Lake Naivasha.
After holding fifth following Thursday’s super special stage in Nairobi, 26-year-old Wahome steadily rose up the ranks on Friday morning and had seized the lead by midday service as her rivals hit trouble.
