Atuka backs Malkia Strikers to perform well in Tokyo

Malkia Strikers are returning to the Olympics after back to back appearances in Sydney in 2000 and  Athens in 2004 and Atuka says, "It is a big stage to play on but the Malkia Strikers have had good preparations, probably the best they've had in a while  and I am sure they are ready mentally and physically to show their  skills to the world. "

Bitok names final Malkia Strikers squad for Tokyo Olympic assignment

Mercy Moim leads the squad that will set up base in the Japanese city of Kurume in the run up to the games. Other notable inclusions are the seasoned Jane Wacu and the young, vibrant Sharon Chepchumba.

Commenting on their exclusion, Bitok said, "  I take this opportunity to thank the two talented young players who were dropped in the subsequent phases of training. The effort and commitment they put in showed that they have agreat potential and a promising future in their volleyball careers. At the ages of 18 and 20 if they maintain these standards they will be among the best in the near future and I wish them all the best."

Kenya's beach volleyball squads named ahead of Olympic qualifier

The Tournament, hosted by the Royal Moroccan Volleyball Federation, will be held from 21st to 28th June, 2021 in a secure bubble conforming to all Covid-19 guidelines. 24 men teams and 17 women team are expected compete for the sole continental spot for the reschedule 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo later in the year.
