A statement on the FUFA website which quotes communication from the Confederation of African Football reads, “ Uganda Senior Women’s National Football Team, the Crested Cranes will play at this year’s Total Women’s Africa Cup of Nations following the withdrawal of Kenya.

Queens are settling into life minus two star performers – goalkeeper Lillian Awuor and forward Jentrix Shikangwa who have recently secured moves to the French and Turkish top tier respectively. They still have enough firepower in the form of Terry Engesha and a host of experience around her to cause trouble for their visitors.

Kenyan international Lilian Awuor left the country on Tuesday evening to link up with her new club ASJ Soyaux-Charente who play in the French top tier, the Division 1 1 Feminine. She will sign a two and half year contract with the side.
