Former United States football coach, Bob Bradley, has been appointed as new Egyptian national team coach. The deal was finalized on Thursday and eaves Bradley with the duty of ensuring the Pharaohs qualify for the 2014 FIFA World Cup to be held in Brazil.
The 53-year old manager will succeed Coach Hassan Shehata who steered Egypt to three successive African Cup of Nations (ACN) titles but recently failed to take Egypt out of the group stages for the 012 tournament.
Before settling on Bradley, The Egypt Football Association interviewed many foreign coaches including Colombian Fancisco Maturana, Serbian Zoran Filipović, Frenchman Hervé Renard and Portuguese Nelo Vingada.
Recently Bob told CNN Arabic. “The Americans are more professional than their Egyptian counterparts, but the Egyptians are more talented."
Bradley led the U.S. to the round of 16 during the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. His replacement in the U.S. is former German great Jurgen Klinsmann.
