Serenge urges Kenyans to come out and support Starlets

Updated on 20/01/12  |    By MICHEZOAFRIKA

National U-17 girls’ team coach Fred Serenge has urged Kenyans to come out on Saturday evening and support the team as they face the Nigerian Falcons in a world Cup qualifier at the Nyayo National Stadium.

Serenge says that they have prepared well and are confident of good results when they face the Nigerians, though they know little about their opponents.

“Fans should expect good results and we urge them to come out and give us support because we need them. We do not know anything about the Nigerian girls but all we know is that we are going to beat them tomorrow. We have had good training and I have faith in the girls and I believe we have the capability to win the match”, Serenge said speaking to Michezoafrika.com after the team’s last training session.

The girls have been in camp from the 2nd January and have been camping in Matuu before they moved to Nairobi on Monday.

Kenya needs to register good results in the two legged match to be certain of progressing to the next round of qualification. Starting at home, they need better results considering the Nigerians’ strength when they play in their backyard.
