After their commendable performance in their previous world cup qualifier matches, the Kenya U-20 women team caught the eye of Prime Minister Raila Odinga who has promised to support the team with training kits and boots as they prepare for the next stage of the U-20 FIFA world Cup.

Kenya dislodged Lesotho and Zambia in the 1st and 2nd world cup qualifier rounds.

Last week, the Prime Minister’s delegation visited the team’s training camp during their normal training sessions and promised total support to the team. The incentives will go a long way in motivating the girls who are expected to host Tunisia later this month for the 1st leg of the 3rd qualifying round.

The girls are determined to qualify for the world cup competition that is scheduled to take place in Japan later in the year. After Tunisia, the winner will face the winner of the match between South Africa and Ghana in the ultimate qualifying round.

Coach Florence Adhiambo said the message from the Prime minister’s office has assured the girls that they are indeed recognized and appreciated just like the main male senior teams.
