Kenya's Harambee Starlets to play Egypt in friendly

The national women's football team will play a friendly match against Egypt on Saturday February 28 at the Safaricom Kasarani Stadium.

The Egyptians side is expected to jet in on Friday morning and will get a feel of the Kasarani pitch in the (Friday) evening. The match kicks off at 3pm on Saturday.

Better known as Harambee Starlets, the national team, handled by head coach David Ouma,embarks on residential training at the Safaricom Stadium on Wednesday morning.

Kenya will use the friendly against the North African side to test their strength ahead of their 2016 Rio Olympic qualifier match against Botswana in April.

The selection process, headed by Ouma, assisted by Doreen Nabwire, has seen the top coaches work with ladies teams' coaches in picking the 29-member provisional team.

Ouma, a CAF coaching instructor, is also a member of the Kenyan Premier League team, Sofapaka, technical bench.He is the assistant coach.

''We picked the best players from the FKF Women Division One League, FKF Women Premier League schools events. There is a lot of talent in this country," FKF NEC member and head of women's football Angeline Elijah, told FKF Media on Thursday.
