Kenya U-20 team set for Zambia experience

The Kenyan U-20 ladies soccer team will depart on Thursday morning for Lusaka Zambia where they are scheduled to play in the second round of the FIFA U-20 world Cup qualifier against their hosts Zambia on Saturday 18th February.

The team will hold its final training session at the City stadium on Wednesday afternoon with coach Florence Adhiambo expected to name her final traveling squad thereafter.

“We have had our time to train and now the girls are ready to depart on Thursday. Competition has been extremely high and am confident of positive results from those who will be selected in the final team.” She said.

The girls took time off on Wednesday morning to receive some beauty make over at the Unity professional college in Nairobi.

“This is a good morale booster for the girls. They need to look good as well.” Added coach Adhiambo.

On Tuesday afternoon, the Kenyan youth team played against seasoned senior team players in a friendly match and lost 2-0 at the City stadium. Among them was Karemi Martha a former Kenyan international and Florence Adhiambo Mara the team’s gaoalkeeper trainer.
