Kenya U-20 team resume training in preparation for Zambia

Updated on 09/02/12  |    By DENNIS MACHIO

The Kenyan U-20 women’s soccer team will commence training at the City stadium on Thursday afternoon in preparation for the U-20 world Cup qualifier against Zambia set to be played on 18th of February in Lusaka. The team qualified for the next round after eliminating Lesotho in the first round last year in December.

Coach Florence Odhiambo has called in 25 players all but one who were part of the first round squad. The only latest inclusion is Laura Kadenge a former Moi Girls High School Nairobi midfielder who will join the team with a wealth of experience and talent.

“She is a great midfielder wit the ability to read the game. She comes with experience and we shall observe how she gels with the other players in the few days we have to prepare.” Said coach Florence Adhiambo.

This comes just a week after the U-17 team fell to the Flamingoes of Nigeria 5-0 on Aggregate in the U-17 world Cup qualifiers.
