A team of eighteen players and five officials departed Nairobi on Thursday morning for Lusaka Zambia where they are scheduled to play their hosts in an U-20 World Cup qualifier on Saturday afternoon.

Coach Florence Adhiambo named her final squad on Wednesday evening after their final training session at the City stadium confident of a good result despite the euphoria that has rocked Zambia after their senior national team clinched the African title for the first time in history.

“Starting away is a bonus for us if we approach the match with good tactics. They will definitely be enjoying a home advantage especially now that they are fresh from winning the Africa Cup of nations. But we are equally determined to pull a fast one on them.” She said.

“Starting away is a good thing because our girls had their first experience in Lesotho during the first round and they know exactly what to expect when playing away.” Added Adhiambo.

FINAL TEAM: Pauline Atieno, Naomi Kinanga, Magret Wayua, Brigit Butiki, Jackline Asistsa, Nelly Auma, Doris Anyango, Joyce Anyango, Lillian Adera, Jacky Ogol, Wendy Achieng, Mural Auma, Susan Wairimu, Nedy Atieno, Eupherisia Afwayi, Terry Ouko, Cynthia Kavaya, Everline Sunda
