Three dropped as Kenya names final volleyball squad

The Kenyan national women’s volleyball team is ready for the oncoming Olympics qualifier set to kick off in Algeria on 31st January. The team of twelve players and officials is expected to depart Nairobi for Blida in Algeria on Monday evening (Approximately 5:00PM).

Coach Gideon Chenje and his technical team on Saturday afternoon at Kasarani named the final team of twelve with three players dropped from the team of 15 that has been pitching camp at Kasarani in preparation for the qualifiers. The three are Judy Tarus, Noel Marambi and Loice Tarus.

The final team saw the return of veterans Mildred Odwako of Kenya Pipeline and setter Jane Wacu of Kenya Prisons. Both were left out of the squad that took part in the FIVB 2011 World Cup in Japan.
