Kenya to host African volleyball Clubs Championships

Kenya will host the 2012 edition of the African Volleyball Confederation “CAVB” Women’s African Club Championship .This was announced on Saturday after a CAVB Board of Administration meeting in Cairo, Egypt. Kenya’s Waithaka Kioni is a member of the African Board where he sits as Vice President.

The African championship will be hosted in Nairobi between March 27 to April 8.Tunisia was given the mandate to organize the men’s edition between April 19 to 30.

 This will be the second year in a row for Kenya to host the African tournament that was held in Nairobi at the African Nazarene University in March 2011 where Kenya Prisons emerged winners after beating Kenya Pipeline in the finals.

 The meeting in Cairo also announced that , the four age group Championships will be hosted by Nigeria for the Women’s Junior African Nations Championship August 15 to 21, while Morocco hosts the Men’s Junior August 25 to September 2.

 Egypt was chosen to organize the Girls Youth championship September 5th  to 12th  and finally Burkina Faso will organize their first ever Continental Championship when they host the Boys Youth African Nations Championship October 3 to 11.
