Nairobi lawyer Mohammed Nyaoga will sponsor a team of under privileged talented youth from the slums to take part in this year’s edition of the Dubai Youth Super Cup.

The Under 16 Super Cup  will be held starting April 13th with teams from Kenya, Tanzania, Canada, Dubai, United Kingdom, Bahrain, Abu Dhabi, South Africa , Newzealand, Uganda Jordan among those  who have already confirmed participation.

The Kenyan team will be represented by 16 boys who were selected from a group of 56 players who attended trials. The trials were held at the Kilimani Primary and involved boys from slum areas.

“We selected a group of 20 boys from the initial 56 we had during trials. From the current 20, we will select the final team of 16 who will travel to Dubai on 13th of April for the tournament.” Team head coach Shaban Baraza told michezoafrika.com.

According to Baraza, this is not a soccer academy but an initiative by Mohammed Nyaoga who would like to give exposure to the many unexposed young talents from underprivileged backgrounds to expose their talents to the world scouts out there.

Nyaoga has a son playing in the United Kingdom with the Bolton Wanderers Youth side after he was scouted during one of the international tournaments. His son has been included in the current U-20 Kenyan team that is preparing for the forthcoming youth championship qualifier against Tanzania.

“I want to thank him (Nyaoga) on behalf of the boys because what he has done is a great thing worth recognition.” Baraza adds.
