Kenya will host her first Confederation of Africa Tennis (CAT) Annual General Meeting from 19th to 23rd March in Nairobi with the agenda being development and exposure of regional Tennis.

The AGM will see over 40 delegates representing various federations of African Nations coming to Kenya with CAT chairman Tarak Cherif of Tunisia expected to chair the meeting. Also in attendance will be ITF director of development Dave Miley.

“The meeting will be held at the Best Western Premier Hotel which will also be the official hotel of the Africa Junior Tennis Championships.” said KLTA Chairlady Purvi Rawal.

“Being the first of its kind we shall be talking about development and exposure to our players. There should be more tournaments for exposure purposes to our players. Hopefully by the end of the AGM, we shall have reached a way forward for developing the sport.” She said.

“We shall forward our plans to the ITF. The main reason is to continue working closely enough and see the kind of help this can give us. If we can have our players taking part in ITF events that will be awesome.” She added.

Patrick Gichira who is the vice president of CAT and president of East Africa Zone will  be the official  host of the meeting.
