Nikita is Motivation to Kenyan tennis - Simba

Updated on 06/02/12  |    By AMOS ABUGA

Zimbabwean coach Muchenje Simba who is coaching some upcoming stars in Kenya has praised Nikita Dawdaw saying the youngster is poised for greater success. Simba who is coaching upcoming stars including Michelle Onyancha is happy with the manner Nikita is progressing at the ITF East African 18 and Under junior tournament.

“I have had an opportunity to monitor Nikita, she is playing really well, she studies her opponent before attacking, she knows how to handle pressure, this is a style she has adapted from Spain where she goes for training”

What makes her tick is the fact that she has the ability to slow down a fast game to her advantage, many says she plays soft ball but I call it an advantage, she has done it severally an she emerges top.” said Simba.

On discipline which is crucial in sports the coach says he has not seen a down to earth young star, unlike many who fail to contain fame Nikita has managed so well and her positive mood is keeping her going.

Even her parents are supportive especially the mother who has been motivating her all through her career.

Last year Nikita won a bronze medal in Rwanda and Burundi ITF east Africa circuit while in 2010 in Libya ITF she was runners up.

Going by her preparedness and approach to game Simba is confident Nikita will emerge victorious come Saturday final.
