Kenya’s Khan faces Zambia’s Kazembe in Kenya open quarters

Kenya’s Faizal Khan will face Zambia’s Edgar Kazembe in the quarter finals of the Real Insurance Kenya Open Tennis Championship on Thursday afternoon. Khan beat Burundian Amadi Kagoma 7-6 (5) 3-6 6-3 to sail to the quarters.

It will be a tough nut to crack for the Kenyan when he faces the  tourney defending champion who was the surprise winner from last year.

The Zambian who sailed to the quarters with a 6-4, 6-4 win over Yassin Shabani of Tanzania has also predicted a tough match and has warned his opponent to trade cautiously lest he fall from his strong serves and speed work on the court.

However, Khan says he is prepared to right the wrongs of last year’s tournament noting that he has worked on his weak areas and is ready to battle down the defending Champion.

“I lost at this stage last year which makes me work harder this year for a better performance. I’ve worked on my service and attack that’s what I’ll rely on.” He said.
