Ligi Ndogo grounds are a series of small size soccer pitches in Nairobi, Kenya. The name evolved from the former Unga Grounds and have been home to Ligi Ndogo and its professional soccer team since Jan 2002 and 2005 respectively when they had their first match against Kariobangi Sharks. The grounds have also hosted the Ligi Ndogo Academy since 2002 and therefore home to its youth squads.
Ligi Ndogo Grounds are located on a four-acre plot on Ngong Road, next to Ole Odume Road, Opposite Harlequins 6.4 km / 4 mi, West of Nairobi Central Business District and not very far from the Junction Mall.
Currently, Ligi Ndogo has four centers; Ligi Ndogo center on Ngong Road next to RFUEA Rugby Grounds is the main center. There is also another Center in South B, at The Railway Training Institute near Hazina Estate. The next is at German School Gigiri just opposite The Village Market. The Fourth is at The Nairobi Academy in Karen.
The Professional team, known as The Planets, have their club house on the grounds at Ngong Road. The Team has participated in the Umbro International Cup in Manchester England (2005) and are also in the Kenya’s Division 1 league (Nationwide League). The Ground has also been the host to the Ligi Ndogo East Africa tournament which happens once every year and it also hosted the Ligi Ndogo Inter-Center Tournament though briefly.
