Despite being held to a disappointing barren draw by minnows Mauritius in a match where they created a glut of chances, Harambee Stars head coach Bobby Williamson has lauded g his charges for qualifying for round two of the 2018 World Cup preliminaries.

Stars sailed through by virtue of the 5-2 away win but the Scot was pleased that his boys got the job done.

“I just have to congratulate the boys because they have qualified. That is the most important thing. We created several scoring chances; we have strikers who can score but today was not their day. We had bad luck” he said.

Williamson will now be aiming at getting the most out of Cape Verde—their opponent at the next hurdle in order to book a place in the group stages where campaign proper will shape out.
