Outgoing Kenya Netball Federation(KNF) president Rev.Mildred Oyiemba Osotsi (left with black tracksuit) congratulates her new predecessor retired school principal Immaculate Wambui Kabutha(right with yellow) after a gruelling and stormy elections held at the Nairobi's Charter Hall.

Retired school principal Immaculate Wambui Kabutha is the new Kenya Netball Federation (KNF) President .Kabutha was declared winner after garnering 54 against 7 votes to beat MacDonald Mariga and Victor Wanyama’s mother Rev.Mildred Wanyama during the Federation elections held on Saturday at Nairobi’s  Charter Hall.

At the same time, long serving Secretary General Lillian Anupi who has been at the  helm for more than two decades was finally elbowed out by Nairobi County President Millicent Busolo. Anupi who is still the secretary General of the federation Nairobi County lost by 51-9
votes.

Dr.Chemagut Kiptum Jonah went un-opposed as the  Vice President.He thanked the electorate  for giving him another chance and promised to
work with the newly elected team. Arnne Bett is the new Treasurer after beating her opponent Sophie Makoba by 53-7 votes. She will be assisted by Everlyne Cherono who garnered 43 votes against her rivals Eunice Okal (13) and Silphosa Omollo(5).Juma Amollo was voted the new Assistant secretary General .

Joseph Makau is the new fixture secretary after scooping 47 votes against Sebastian Oketch(2 votes), and  Peninah Nyakundi(8). He will be deputised by Suleiman Hassan who got 42 votes against his two rivals  who managed a paltry 11 and 8 votes.

In her maiden speech, Kabutha promised to change the face of Netball that has been dormant. She vowed to work in partnership with the
Government, Sport ministry, Counties, Co-operates, Parastatal bodies and stakeholders to resuscitate the game.

The retired principal who boasts of a  first degree in Sports science and also an active Sports Consultant urged those  who lost to team up
with her  new “team change” to promote the game  by ensuring Kenya is represented in continental tournament like other  sport disciplines.
