Universities and colleges soccer league set for kick off

Four matches  will be played this weekend during week one of the 2016 season Universities and Colleges Football League at the Kenya Medical Training College Kenyatta National Hospital campus this Sunday.

Apparently  the 2016 UCFL season will kick off before the winner of the 2015 is determined with some teams having games in hand following disputes which are yet to be resolved. Maurice Ochieng’, the secretary general of UCFL intimated that the executive committee will meet on Saturday to chat the way forward.

“The executive committee will meet on Saturday to discuss the issue and settle on how to resolve the case,” said Ochieng’ who added: 

“The teams were to play last weekend but they did not honor their fixtures. We want to settle this matter ones and for all, and most importantly in an amicable way,”

Former champions, Technical University of Kenya are set to face National Youth Service- Engineering division in what is billed to be a mouthwatering clash.

Nairobi Institute of Business Studies (NIBS town campus) will entertain United States International University- Africa. Management University of Kenya, the league debutants commence their title chase against NIBS Ruiru campus. Hosts Kenya Medical Training College KNH campus invites Kabete Technical Institute. 

Meanwhile, the University of Nairobi’s main campus team joins their fellow comrades from UoN College of Agriculture and Veterinary Studies (UoN- CAVS) in the colleges’ bonanza. Others making their maiden appearance in the UCFL are Amboseli College and Kinyanjui Institute.
