Tusker FC dropped two important points as they drew 1-1 with Wazitoon Sunday  courtesy of Mungai Kiongera’s late goal. Chrispinus Onyango had given the brewers the lead early in the second half, but they conceded a soft avoidable goal with a red card in the build up.

The brewers had the most of the chances in the game and will feel undone after failing to clinch maximum points.

Brian Marita’s effort in the 12th minute when he raced onto a Rodgers Aloro cross crushed against the upright with the Wazito defense caught flat footed. In the 21st minute, Johnstone Omurwa came to Wazito’s effort when he cleared the ball off the line after Chris Ochieng’s effort squeezed beneath keeper Kevin Omondi’s feet.

In the second half, Tusker sought to finish the job early and they did so 14 minutes after the restart, Onyango, tapping the ball home after the defense struggled to clear a freekick from Aloro.

Timothy Otieno should have doubled the tally with 12 minutes left but his shot from inside the box hit the bar with George Odhiambo hitting the rebound over with a gaping goalmouth.

On the opposite end, Kiongera came close but his shot after breaking from the right blocked, before he popped up to score the equalizer late on.
