Kenya’s representatives in the CAF Confederation Cup are in action this weekend in the quest to reach the group stages of Africa’s second tier continental club competition.

Kenyan champions Tusker will host Tunisia’s CS Sfaxien at 3.00pm in their first leg fixture on Sunday 28 November 2021 at the Nyayo National Stadium while Gor Mahia, Kenya’s other representatives in the competition play away to Congolese club AS Otoho at 5.30pm the same day at the Stade Alphonse Masamba Debat in Brazzaville.

Tusker were relegated from the CAF Champions League after losing 5-0 on aggregate to Egyptian champions Zamalek. They had earlier disposed of Djibouti’s Arta Solar 4-1 on aggregate.

Gor Mahia qualified to represent Kenya in this competition after winning the FKF Cup. They then received a first round bye before benefiting from a second round, second leg walkover, having defeated Sudanese side Al Alhy Merowe 3-1 in the first leg in Suez City, Egypt before the Sudanese failed to appear in Nairobi for the return leg.

They will be seeking to return to the group stage for the first time since 2019 when they advanced from a tough pool that also featured eventual winners Zamalek, Hussein Dey and Petro Atletico before exiting at the quarterfinal stage, losing 7-1 on aggregate to losing finalists RC Berkane.
