Survival is primary target for Kisumu All Stars

They have picked experienced coach Henry Omino to steer them into the deep waters of top flight football and the tactician is confident he can do well with the club.

Kisumu All Stars were welcomed  to top flight football with a 2-0 loss in the hands of soldiers Ulinzi Stars. The Kisumu County government sponsored side finished second in last season’s National Super League to earn a first ever place in the top division

They have picked experienced coach Henry Omino to steer them into the deep waters of top flight football and the tactician is confident he can do well with the club.

“I think we are ready for the new season and our first ever in the KPL. We have trained very well especially looking at the pre-season games we have played and I am convinced we are ready,” Omino said.

“Heading into our first season, my target is to ensure we remain in the league. We cannot come with big ambitions but we have to be realistic. If we can maintain our status then next year we can start challenging for top positions,” Omino further noted.

Among the new players that Omino has brought on board is his former lieutenant at Western Stima, striker Wesley Kemboi. He hopes his experience will come in handy for the club’s young squad.
