Stars win dead rubber in Lome

Already eliminated Harambee Stars ended their AFCON qualification campaign with a 2-1 win away to Togo in Lome on Monday evening.

Forced to take the pitch without key players Michael Olunga, Joash Onyango and Ian Otieno who allegedly tested positive for COVID19, Ghost Mulee's charges settled into the tie, taking the lead through Abdallah Hassan who scored in the 35th minute.

Kenya took this lead into the interval and doubled their lead in the 62nd minute when Masud Juma scored from the penalty scored.

Togo scored a late consolation but Kenya held on for the win that saw them finish third in their qualifying group with 7 points off one win, four draws and one defeat.
