Safari 7's enters quarters as Uganda wins Africa Cup title

Uganda on Saturday claimed the 2016 edition of the African rugby sevens title following their impressive 38 - 19 win over Namibia in the final played at Kasarani Stadium

The Ugandan side had defeated neighbours and defending champions Kenya 17-12 in the semi finals. The win earns Uganda participation at the opening leg of the IRB World Sevens series in Dubai later this year where they will be taking part as invitational team.

The two teams, Namibia and Uganda have also qualified for the World Sevens Series qualifiers to be played during the Hong Kong Sevens in 2017.

At the 2016 Safari Sevens Shujaa will face Zimbabwe in the first of the cup quarterfinals, setting the stage for the clash between Red Wailers and Western Province.

Defending champions Samurai take on the Cape Warriors before England Saxons duel Portugal.
