Influential Oscar Ouma has been ruled out of the final two legs of the World Sevens Series in London and Paris due to personal commitments. The Nakuru RFC man has been a core figure in coach Innocent Simiyu’s squad for the better part of the season and will be a huge miss for the final two legs.
Also out of the team is Sammy Oliech who picked up an injury in training that rules him out for the next one month. Dan Sikuta has also asked to be excused from the team due to personal commitments.
The team has however been boosted with the return of skipper Oscar Ayodi who has missed the last three months of action while Dennis Ombachi makes a return to the squad since last December having picked up an injury at the Dubai Sevens.
Simiyu has also included in his final squad Menengai Oilers’ Eric Ombassa who has missed the last two legs as well as Herman Humwa and Brian Tanga.
Kenya opens their campaign against USA at 1.42 pm on Saturday June 2, France at 4.48 pm and round up pool matches against England at 8.16 pm.
Shujaa are placed sixth on the table with 93 points and will be looking to break the 100 point barrier for the first time.
